Following eighteen months of work with a task force comprised of fifty-five people the Board of School Trustees of the Lafayette School Corporation made critical decisions regarding the most effective use of staff and facilities in the school district. As a result of that work school buildings were identified for different educational use, grade levels of schools were reorganized, curriculum was expanded, programs were relocated, and certain facility needs were identified. The Board of School Trustees is seeking community input regarding the facility needs at Sunnyside Middle School, the renovation of the existing theater and music rooms at Jefferson High School to complement the generous gift given by Mr. Bob Rohrman to construct a Performing Arts Center as an addition to the high school, and to address the need for additional active security measures in our schools to ensure greater safety of our students. CSO is an architectural/engineering firm who is conducting a series of six workshops intended to explain the needs, hear concerns, examine existing conditions, and address the possible scope, quality, cost, and schedule of the work being contemplated. These workshops are at no cost to the participants or the school district. Presentations and minutes of each meeting are being made available on this website.
